2) What information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Contact and account information (e.g., name, email, phone number), if you create or access a patient account.
  • Authentication data needed for login security (e.g., one-time verification codes).

  • Improve site performance, usability, and quality (including quality review of AI responses).
  • Meet legal, regulatory, and compliance obligations.

4) AI assistant and clinical disclaimers

Atlas is designed to provide general educational information and help with navigating care. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not use Atlas for emergencies. If you believe you may have a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number).

5) How we share information

We may share information only as needed with:

  • Service providers who help operate the site (e.g., hosting, security, messaging providers like email/SMS).
  • Clinical/office operations when required to support patient requests and care coordination.
  • Legal/regulatory authorities if required by law, subpoena, or similar process.

We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense. If this changes, we will update this policy.

6) SMS text messaging and email communications

SMS text messaging consent: When you log into the patient portal for the first time, you will be presented with an SMS consent screen. By selecting "Yes, I agree to receive SMS text messages" on that screen, you expressly consent to receive automated SMS text messages from IyerSpine.com / Dr. Sravisht Iyer's practice / Neurantra LLC at your mobile phone number.

Types of SMS messages: Security verification codes (one-time passwords for login), account security alerts (login attempts, password changes), and important administrative notices related to your patient portal access.

Message frequency: Variable, typically 1-5 messages per month based on your account activity. We do not send promotional or marketing messages.

SMS consent is completely optional. SMS enrollment is not required to use the patient portal or receive medical care. You may use email verification instead. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Email communications: If you provide your email address, we may send messages related to login verification, account setup, and important administrative updates.

For complete details about SMS messaging, frequency, opt-out procedures, and your rights, see our Communications Policy.

8) Data security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9) Data retention

We retain information as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the data type and purpose.
